BCA Studios is seeking Director of Engineering.
BCA Studios is a growing architectural firm with offices in Atlanta and Gainesville.
For this position, it is preferred the candidate works in either our Gainesville or Atlanta GA offices, however, we would consider another office location with the right candidate.
Position: We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering.
- The Director of Engineering (DOE) role oversees all activities of the engineering department, build a reliable engineering team consisting of structural – mechanical – electrical engineers.
- The DOE will be involved with administrative, financial, and human resource tasks to help promote the success of the department and technically support all projects.
- The DOE also creates and maintains positive relationships by collaborating with company and project stakeholders.
- The DOE will work as the project engineer and participate in the design of projects.
- Project types include multi-story hospitality – low-mid-and high rise, entertainment, sports and recreation, faith-based, and general commercial.
Qualifications:
- Ability to engineer and deliver project sizes through $80m.
- Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in written form, with an understanding of industry communication protocols.
- Ability to understand multi-disciplinary coordination issues.
- Able to work creatively to reach solutions to complex problems.
- Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD
- BCA Studios projects are throughout the United States, so must have the ability to be licensed in multiple states and be available to travel to project sites from time to time.
This position’s responsibilities require duties for all aspects of a project – from beginning to completion:
- Attending client meetings and leading day to day consultant coordination.
- Developing and directing Construction Documents and Project Detailing
- Specification Coordination
- Construction Administration Duties, reviewing submittals and shop drawings, identifying potential issues and assisting with resolution, as well as assisting in developing solutions to significant or recurring technical challenges.
